my neighbors think I'm crazy...

I love squirrels. I think they are cuuute! Chris hates squirrels. He informed me early on into our relationship that 1. he hates rodents (especially mice) and 2. a squirrel looks like a mouse with a fluffy tail. On to my story...

I hit a mailbox with my car today. To be more exact, I hit one of my neighbor's mailbox with my car today in order to not hit a squirrel. So I saved a squirrel and killed my neighbor's mailbox. Dumb. I realize now that slamming on my breaks would have been efficient but no...I just had to drive into that mailbox. The crazy thing is that I didn't even hit it that hard but the mailbox came completely off of it's post! And I put a pretty little scratch on my car.

I am so glad I will only be living in this neighborhood for another few months because they all have to think I'm crazy! There was this one time that I came home and everyone was supposed to be gone at Josh's baseball game. There were no cars...all the lights were off...you know, the usual stuff when no one is home! I was singing and just having a grand time until after about a couple hours of being home I started hearing things. I was sitting on the couch when I heard someone moving upstairs. Then they opened a door upstairs and I saw a light come on. So I ran out the door to my next door neighbors. I'd never met the guy and there I was in my skimpies telling him that I needed to use his phone because someone was in my house.

My neighbor called his brother in law who works for the Charlestown police. All the while, this guy is looking around my house to make sure no one is coming out. While we are waiting, my Mom and Dad pull into our driveway. My first instinct is don't let Mom and Dad in the house with the crazy person! So I go running over there telling Dad that someone is in the house. My Dad gets this panicked look on his face and says, "Where is your brother!?!?" And I said,"What?" Dad says,"You left your brother in the house?!?!" He starts to sprint towards the door and then he stops and says, "You do know that your brother's game got cancelled and he's been at home, right?"

It was Josh. You have my permission to laugh hysterically. So in a nut shell, my neighbors think I'm crazy. Josh is lucky that I didn't hide behind the corner when he came down the stairs to bust him in the head with a baseball bat! Ya know?!

Other than that...my day has been pretty good. I was on our bike for 2 1/2 hours yesterday and I'm feeling the pain today. No pain, no gain! :)

I have to laugh every time I think of that episode with the "burglar". Megan left out the fact that she screamed at the top of her lungs when she heard someone coming down the stairs and bolted out the door while slamming it in the process. Josh heard her scream and run out the door and never checked to see what was going on! He continued to pour a bowl of cereal and eat. Now, what a concerned brother he is! hee hee Leigh Ann

That's hilarious! I've had my share of embarrassing moments as well! By the way, I need to get a hold of Chris to ask him a question about some things that we used for the Football themed AWANA kick-off. When you talk to him, would you have him call me? I don't know if I have his phone number and I know how hard he is to get a hold of!!

Thanks!

I am the same way about any animals. One time a mouse got locked in our dog food container and Matt said kill it, no I let it go in the back yard;)
