16 weeks

Yesterday started out so stressful and scary but ended up being one of the best days ever. We found out that we are having a boy (see post below), and he is healthy. Let me just add that Chris knew it was going to be a boy all along. I thought it was going to be a boy up until a few weeks ago when I started having my doubts. I jokingly told Robert that I must not have the mother's instinct down yet. He jokingly replied, "Well, at least Chris does." HAHAHA! :)
Lincoln was so cute! He was moving and kicking. At one point he was completely relaxed, with the exception of his sweet little leg that he was holding straight out above him. Precious! We could see his cute toes too. What an amazing day! We are so thankful to God! I can't imagine two more perfect songs to have playing on our blog, than the ones that are playing right now ...
"Oh praise Him! Oh praise Him!
He is Holy! He is Holy!"
and
"You make everything glorious.
You make everything glorious.
You make everything glorious, and I am Yours.
From glory to glory, You are glorious ."
A Quick Update About Me: Although I'm still experiencing some cramping and nausea, I feel so much better than yesterday. Before I was pregnant, I could eat just about anything and not experience heartburn. Now I feel like I'm having to choke down those chalky Tums every night after dinner. Gross. My allergies are doing much better.
The book, What to Expect When You're Expecting, said one of the emotions I could feel this month is "inexplicable weepiness". I think I experienced that this morning. I woke up around 5 a.m. because Rufus was barking. After that I couldn't fall back to sleep. I started browsing random blogs on the internet and I came across one that I definitely should not have read. It was a woman's blog who had lost her baby at 36 weeks. I balled my eyes out as I read this stranger's blog. I am so thankful that our little Lincoln is healthy.
Mom and I had a wonderful day this week too. We spent the whole day together talking, laughing, and shopping. She's the best Mom ever. She bought me two maternity tops and I love them! I've already worn one of them ... the other one will have to wait until it gets a little colder outside. We ate lunch at the Cheescake Factory and it was delicious! We had such a great day together. I love my mommy :)
Here's what the book said went on with our sweet boy this week...
With a whopping weight of anywhere from 3 to 5 ounces and length (crown to rump) of 4-5 inches, your baby is growing up fast. Muscles are getting stronger (you'll start to feel movement in a few weeks), especially the back muscles, enabling your little one to straighten out even more. Your baby-to-be is looking more and more adorable, with a face that has eyes (complete with eyebrows and eyelashes) and ears in the right spots. What's more, those eyes are finally working! Yes, it's true: Your baby's eyes are making small side-to-side movements and can even perceive some light, though the eyelids are still sealed. Your baby is also becoming more sensitive to touch. In fact, he or she will even squirm if you poke your belly (though you probably won't be able to feel those squirms just yet).
I can't wait to start feeling those movements! We will have another ultrasound in a little over 3 weeks. I forgot to ask Chris to take a picture of my belly before he left for work. I'll try to put one up tonight. Keep me, Chris, and Lincoln in your prayers ... and Rufus too :) I'll keep you posted!

Congratulations guys! Megan, you probably don't know who I am but I used to attend CIC before I got married and I'm good friends with Karen. Boys are awesome, you are going to love every minute of him.
