Thanksgiving in Jonestown ...

After eating enough food in just two days to feed the town of New Washington for a month, I have come out of my turkey-induced coma long enough to write a post about our Thanksgiving Day. We spent the holiday with Megan's grandparents, Charlie and Janet Jones. They had a house full of family, including Megan's parents, aunt, cousins, etc. When the family is assembled, they sometimes refer to the house as "Jonestown" because the atmosphere tends to get a bit crazy. During my first visit to the house a few years ago, Megan's aunt, Chrissy, warned me not to drink the Kool-aid! Hee, hee.

But the reality was Kool-Aid was about the only thing that wasn't on the Thanksgiving Day menu. Charlie and Janet served an incredible meal, perhaps the biggest I've ever seen. Think Hometown Buffet and muliply it times three! I believe the number of dishes was about 30. Megan's Uncle Kenny said there were 12 dishes he didn't even get to try!

Before we pigged out, Charlie, who is pastor at Main Cross in Charlestown, passed the Bible around the room and we took turns reading from Psalms. It was the perfect way to show thanks to the One who is the giver of everything. I reflected that day about what God has given me--a beautiful wife and son, great family and friends to name just a few.

I'm looking forward to many more Thanksgiving feasts at Jonestown! Oh, here are few photos from the day ... You'll see that Lincoln is dressed in his Santa outfit. We decided to let him wear it to Thanksgiving because he probably won't be able to fit into by Christmas.

Jonestown was sure the BEST ever with you, Lincoln and Megan there to share it with! I loved going to the movies and seeing us all with the 3-D glasses on. (hehehe) I look forward to Christmas and seeing Lincoln get all the toys he could ever want under the Christmas tree! He's the best looking Santa I have ever seen!! Love you all!

What a great time we had at "Jonestown" drinking the koolaid and living to tell the story. Good times....
