I wouldn't say that music moves me to tears too often. This song does every time. As a matter of fact, I cried my whole way to Papa Murphy's the other day when this song came on the radio. You might be wondering why I didn't just turn the channel, and it's very simple. This song really helps me keep things in perspective. Maybe Silent Night does that for you. Or O Holy Night. This song does it for me.
I'm usually doing good (emotionally) up until this part ...
Fragile finger sent to heal us
Tender brow prepared for thorn
Tiny heart whose blood will save us
Unto us is born
Unto us is born
And then I lose it. I think about Lincoln and I know I couldn't have sent him.
Beth, don't you sing this song? Gary---I'm putting in my request now. Ok, I'll stop rambling now. Take a minute and listen to this song.
Tears are falling, hearts are breaking
How we need to hear from God
You've been promised, we've been waiting
Welcome Holy Child
Welcome Holy Child
Hope that you don't mind our manger
How I wish we would have known
But long-awaited Holy Stranger
Make Yourself at home
Please make Yourself at home
Bring Your peace into our violence
Bid our hungry souls be filled
Word now breaking Heaven's silence
Welcome to our world
Welcome to our world
Fragile finger sent to heal us
Tender brow prepared for thorn
Tiny heart whose blood will save us
Unto us is born
Unto us is born
So wrap our injured flesh around You
Breathe our air and walk our sod
Rob our sin and make us holy
Perfect Son of God
Perfect Son of God
Welcome to our world

I love this song. I remember the first time I heard it and I bawled my eyes out. I am so thankful for Jesus, because, like you, I know I couldn't have sent Levi. God is good to us even tho we are so selfish!! Thanks for sharing and reminding me again of how precious life is!
Pass the Kleenex ...
Jim
yes - sang it last night and that verse ALWAYS get me... It's much harder singing it when you are pregnant... shew!
I missed it :(
I'll have you know that I'm sitting here sobbing. Oh the love......
This song always makes me cry too, though I prefer the Amy Grant version. Wait until Lincoln sings some of these songs to you - my daughter sings "Do You Hear What I Hear," and to hear her little voice singing makes me cry every time, especially now that she "gets" what it means. :(
Beautiful song and Beth does a beautiful job with it. Maybe we can talk her into singing it at church before Christmas and Chris and you can attend??????? YAY
