Our friend, Maria, told me about a craft she saw on Pinterest where you melt crayons in a heart mold. I heard crayons and craft and I was sold! We had lots of fun making them and it's a perfect craft with Valentine's Day right around the corner. Here's what you do ...
Peel some crayons. If the paper is really stuck to the crayon, just put them in a bowl of warm water. Break/chop the crayons into pieces. Or if you are like me, you probably already have a ton of broken crayons laying around your house!
Put the crayons into a silicone mold. I found this one at Walmart for like a dollar.
Bake at 230 degrees for 15 minutes, or until the crayons are melted
Wait until the crayons are completely cool before popping them out!
I've gotta be honest with you.... Lincoln was ecstatic for about two minutes after they were finished and then he was over it. He won't even color with the adorable little hearts we made! He cracks me up! So I can't promise that your little ones will actually use these, but I can tell you that we had a blast making them and made some good memories :-) Worth it.
