easy peasy carrot puree

Lincoln is loving eating babyfood. What I've been doing is buying a few jars of one type of veggie/fruit and trying it out for a few days to make sure that one, he's not allergic to it, and two, that he likes it. It would be a shame to puree a big mess of babyfood that he doesn't even like. The other day we introduced carrots and he loved them. So today, I decided to make some myself and it was very easy!

First, I steamed some peeled and cut carrots on the stove.

Next I put them in the blender.

Voila! Carrot puree

Lincoln always makes this face after his first few bites. He cracks me up!

After he got past the initial "what is this?!" phase, he loved it. He was literally grabbing the spoon and shoving it into his mouth.

A happy Lincoln with a full tummy. Yes, we get a little messy at our house :)

love at first bite

We were given the okay to start introducing solids to Lincoln yesterday. I had been reading up for months on how to make your own babyfood and I was so excited! We decided on split green peas for his first meal.

First I grinded the split green peas into powder.

Then, I added water and cooked it on the stove for a few minutes, poured it into a glass dish, and voila! Homemade split green peas ...

I froze the rest in cubes for later.

Here's Lincoln anticipating his first bite ...

I'm so hungry I could eat my fingers!

I see it ...

I'm ready!

I'm not sure about this ...

I think ...

I ...

love it.
