skinny dip

I recently discovered hummus, a healthy dip that's easy to make. Chris and I had some on Friday and again tonight. It's delicious!

The Ingredients

3 14.5-ounce cans garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1/3 cup tahini
3-4 cloves garlic, chopped
lemon juice to taste
½ teaspoon ground cumin
3 to 5 tablespoons cold water
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt to taste
Fresh basil or parsley to put on top

Put chickpeas in a blender.

Chop garlic and add to blender.

Add the rest of the ingredients except for the olive oil.

Blend until combined and smooth, but not overmixed. Then add olive oil and pulse blender a few more times. Pour and stir.

Serve cold with any kind of chip you like. We used pita chips and it was delish!

Thanks for posting ...

I too adore Hummus. We take whole wheat or oat bran pitas slice them with a pizza cutter and make our own chips. You can toast them in the oven or a toaster oven.
