Questions for Chris

I have two exciting things I want to let you in on!

1. My aunt Chrissy finally started a blog! She is in the process of building a new home, so it's a perfect time for her to start blogging. She is absolutely hilarious, and I am looking forward to reading some of her crazy posts! If you would like to check out her blog and leave her a comment, you can either click HERE or click on my link on the right called The Yeager's. Welcome to blogworld, Chrissy!

2. As you know, Chris posts on here from time to time. I thought it would be fun if we let you decide what he should post about next. So here's how we're going to do this----You can leave a comment on this post with your topic or question for Chris. If someone leaves a comment with the topic/question you want to hear about, I ask that you leave a comment saying that you want to hear about it as well. We also ask that you leave your comment anonymously. Chris will choose one to write about very soon. Let the fun begin!!!!!!

questions & answers

I've had a few people leave me comments asking me questions and since it's taken me so long (sorry), I decided I would just answer them in a post. I love when you all give me something to blog about! Keep the questions coming :)

Renae & Katrina wanted to know who we think Lincoln looks like. Katrina thinks he looks like me and Renae thinks he looks like Chris. Well, as much as I would love to say that I think he looks like me (because I think he may have the sweetest face of all time), I've got to say I think he looks just like his daddy. I'm pretty sure he has Chris eyes, nose, and hair color. The one thing I think he got from me is his chin. We both have a dimple on our chin. But thanks Katrina ... I will take that as a compliment :)

Gretchen asked if being a mom was what I thought it would be so far. I think my answer to that is yes and no. I love Lincoln way more than I could have imagined before he was born. Some things have been more difficult than I imagined and other things have been easier. I love being a mom and I'm so thankful God chose me to be Lincoln's mom.

Ashley, who is a preggie, asked, "Has he grown much since you had him? What size is he wearing?" Lincoln actually lost about a pound the first week after he was born because it took my milk awhile to come in. But ever since it did, he's been eating and growing like crazy! Although Lincoln is a very big boy, he is still wearing newborn clothes. We actually had to buy him clothes because no one thought he would be able to fit in the newborn clothes.

That's all of the questions! Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Tagged! Chris' response

1. I love the honey roasted barbeque sauce at Chic-Fil-A. The only problem is the workers are extremely stingy with this particular condiment. Notice in the photo that the other sauces are free for the taking. It’s only the honey roasted barbeque sauce that’s stashed behind the counter. Megan and I always ask for extra but usually they only give us one more packet--two at the most. Tonight we tried a different tactic. Megan worked up enough courage to ask for FIVE packets. This is the first time either of us dared to ask for a specific number. I was stunned by her bold move. It was hilarious to watch one of the other cashiers--the one we call the honey roasted barbeque sauce Nazi--snap her head around when she heard Megan’s request. She watched in disbelief as her co-worker handed us FIVE packets.

2. I love Tums. Actually, to be more specific, I love Smoothie Tums. I sometimes pretend to have heartburn just so I can snack on them before bed.

3. Megan mentioned in her list that I sometimes threaten to kill her when we take walks in a wooded area. She said that it scares her a little, but that she knows I’m joking. Well, I’m not. I’m going to kill her someday … God willing.

4. Similar to Megan’s “God willing” pet peeve, it kind of annoys me when Christians accept compliments in weird ways. Rather than just saying “thank you” after receiving a compliment, they often say something like, “It wasn’t me, it was God.” I understand the good-hearted sentiment behind this response but it just sounds so strange to me. I fully agree we should give God the glory for everything, but to say that it was God that sang the song, preached the message or baked the crescent rolls is a bit of a stretch. Don’t you think?

5. I often shower BEFORE I workout. I have no explanation for this.

6. If Obama wins, I will be checking out mentally. Megan already has Charter Hospital on her speed dial.

tagged...

I was tagged by Karen! I've done a bunch of these survey thingys and I'm going to do my best not to repeat any of the ones I've used before. So if they seem a little odd ... that's why!

-Link to the person who tagged you.
-Post the rules on your blog.
-Write Six Random Things about yourself.
-Tag six-or-so other people at the bottom of the post.
-Leave comments on their blogs, letting them know they've been tagged!
-Let the person who tagged you know when you've written the post.

1. There have been several occasions where Chris and I were by ourselves on a trail or in the woods. He tries to scare me by saying, with the most serious face, "Okay. This is where I'm going to kill you." I laugh nervously and say things like, "Ha Ha! Very funny!" But he continues to look at me like he's actually going to kill me. I small part of me deep down feels freaked out and I wonder "Is he really going to kill me?!" Now that I think of it, my Mom used to do the same thing ... except she was chasing me and Josh around the house with her black pantyhose on her head. It scarred me for life. Pretty terrifying...

2. I have conversations with my dog, Rufus, when no one is around.

3. Getting curtains for the bow window in our living room was one of the best days. It was really hard to find curtains that would fit it because it's such an odd shape. So, I went several months with this huge window uncovered. I'm a private person and I'm not crazy about the idea that someone could be looking in on me.

4. When I lived at home, I would do this thing called "fish out of water" where I would flop around on the floor. My mom thought it was hysterical. I'm still not ready for Chris to see that one :)

5. It drives me crazy when people use the phrase, "God willing." It usually goes something like this---"Of course I'll be at church next Sunday...God willing." or "I'm going to go to college next year...God willing." I just want to have a melt down and say "Look...we are all Christians here. We fully understand that God could take us at any time. You really don't have to say 'God willing' after everything!" I realize that they're just trying to let others know that they know that God is in control of everything, but come on?! This could spiral out of control. If we said "God willing" every time we made a comment about what we were doing or what we were going to do, it would take all day! Not to mention, Chris and I have laughed about it so many times that I think if someone said that to me now, I might just laugh.

6. I talk in my sleep. A lot. There was a time when Josh (my little brother) was sleeping in my bed every night, and I can't even begin to tell you how many times I would wake up to the noise of Josh creeping out of my room. I'd ask him what was wrong and he would reply,"I can't sleep with you! You're talking in your sleep and it's freaking me out!" Now poor Chris has to deal with me ;) Chris has discovered a new development with me. I will at times respond to questions in my sleep!

Well, there it is! I'll tag: Jane, Brittany, Dawn Cox, Jessica, and my hubby Chris ;)
