3 years, 7 months

My sweet sunshine boy...

Your favorite movies are The Incredibles, Toy Story, Cars, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

You are obsessed with Buzz Lightyear. You are soo excited about Halloween because your cousin Mason let you borrow his Buzz Lightyear costume!

You are so sweet. We love your tender heart.

Your favorite songs are I Am Special, Jesus Loves Me, This Is Halloween, and the B-I-B-L-E song. You also love This Little Light of Mine in which your Daddy does a very soulful echo :-) You call it "The Crazy Song".

You LOVE chocolate milk. You call it Choc-E-Milk!

You say the funniest things. The other day you asked me if you could hold your pumpkin while you poop! Just this morning you woke up and told me, "Put on your dress and make me some pumpkin cookies!" When I gave you a blank stare, you responded with, "Get ready! Fix your hairs!"

You love to read! Your Daddy reads you a story out of your Bible every night. The other night while he was reading to you, you noticed a picture of a Lion. You screamed, "Madagascar!" Then you hopped off the couch and started singing, "I like to move it, move it" while dancing like a crazy man!

Your favorite books right now are Have You Seen My Cat, If You Give a Boy a Bible, 10 Trick-or-Treaters, and Green Eggs and Ham.

You have a love/hate relationship with Rufus. When we aren't home, you miss him terribly. But when we are home, I spend most of my time trying to rescue Rufus from your silly ways :-) You have the same kind of love/hate relationship with your Uncle Josh's dog, Bear. You pronounce his name "Beer", which has resulted in some awkward moments.

For example---The other day you were chasing Bear and you ran into a cabinet and bumped your head pretty bad. At church the following Sunday, you kept telling everyone, "I love 'Beer'. But 'Beer' made me fall and hit my head!" Needless to say, I had a lot of explaining to do after church!

You are sooo funny! You make us laugh till our sides hurt. Something you do that never gets old, is imitating us. You do this little routine where you pretend you are one of us and you say, "Hi, I'm Mommy!" or "Hi, I'm Daddy!" The other day while we were at your Great Grandpa Jones' house, I caught you hobbling around with his cane and saying, "Hi, I'm Papaw Jones!" Luckily, your Papaw Jones has a great sense of humor too and he thought it was hilarious.

You are so smart! I am amazed at how much you already know. You are memorizing Bible verses in your Cubbies class and for your Community Bible Study class. You make us so proud.

You LOVE Sesame Street with all your heart. You would watch it all day long if we would let you. You typically have a meltdown when the show ends. There's lots of crying and gnashing of teeth involved.

You sing and dance all the time! Your favorite songs to sing right now are Elmo's Song, I Love You, This Little Light of Mine, and We Make Music.

You have such a tender heart. You love to give hugs and kisses. You especially love to give group hugs to mommy and daddy. The look on your face when we do group hugs is priceless.

Your favorite book right now is Goodnight, Moon.

You LOVE Rufus and you call him Roo. You do this thing where you look at Rufus with pure love and joy in your eyes and then you say, "Oh, Roo..." It is hilarious!

You've started referring to Daddy as Chris. We are trying to break that habit but it's just soo cute! When Daddy comes in to see you in the morning he says, "Hi Lincoln!" And you reply, "Hi, Chris!"

Photobucket

You are talking non-stop! The word we've been hearing most here lately---"MORE!!!!" :)

You enjoy going to nursery at church. You don't cry for me when I drop you off, but you sure are happy when I pick you up.

Mommy rocks you to sleep every night and sings "You Are My Sunshine." Sometimes you sing it too.

You can identify your toes, hands, nose, mouth, ears, hair, tongue, teeth, and belly.

You rarely take naps anymore.

You LOVE to eat! We've started noticing that your likes and dislikes in food are the exact same as daddy's :)

We love you to the moon and back, baby boy!

You LOVE sesame street! You especially love Elmo.

Here are the new words you've learned to say this month: uh oh, more, drink, please, up, down, where did it go?, yuck, and Xander.

You are the most hyper about an hour before bedtime every night. You go crazzy!

You still love bath time. You love filling cups up and pouring them out. You also enjoy putting your head under the water which scares us to death.

You love music and dancing. You dance side to side and take turns lifting your elbows up to your ears while you boogie :)

Photobucket

You are wearing a size 3T and occasionally you wear a 4T.

Your favorite books are B is for Bear and Puppies & Kittens.

You wear a size 6 diaper.

You love being outdoors.

You skip and hop everywhere.

Photobucket

You LOVE momma's Salsa Chicken. Days that we have Salsa Chicken, you eat adult size portions. Seriously.

One of your favorite passtimes is hiding things. We are pretty sure that you remember exactly where you've hid them too.

You love cats and dogs! For some reason you think horses are cats too, because everytime you see one you say "Kitty!"

Photobucket

You are wearing mostly size 3T in clothes.

Your favorite books are Trick or Treat with Elmo and B is for Bear.

You LOVE Sesame Steet. Veggie Tales is a close second.

Your favorite songs are I Heard My Dog Bark, The Wheels On The Bus, BINGO, Let's Take A Ride In Automobile.

You are wearing a size 5 diaper.

You are a great imitator. Your daddy and I always eat the whipped cream off of our starbucks drink with a straw. A lot of times we will get you a vanilla milk while we're there, and you too eat your imaginary whipped cream off of your milk with a straw.

Photobucket

You weigh 31 pounds and are 34 inches long!

You enjoy hiding things. Your favorite spots to hide things are in your bookshelf, the closet, and the bottom drawer in our nightstand.

You hop everywhere.

You are a dancing machine!

You can point to your nose and your eyes when I ask you where they are.

You love to swing at Poppy and Mimi's house.

You are very curious.

Photobucket

You added a new word to your vocabulary this week---juice!

Bedtime is around 8:30 and you sleep till about 7-7:30.

You can feed yourself with utensils! You hate it when we feed you now. Sometimes you even go as far as to refuse food if you can't do it yourself.

You can tell us what sounds a cow and a dog make.

You've been attending nursery while me and Mimi go to Bible Study, and on Sunday mornings during church. You've made some friends too! Mommy and Mimi worked the nursery on Sunday and you spent most of your time hugging and on some occasions kissing, Jill, Alex, and Kandon.

You love your daddy and you go completely insane with happiness when he gets home from work.

Photobucket

You love being outside. You could stay outside all day! We took you on a trail at the Charlestown State Park, and we've been referring to you as Wilderness Baby ever since. You high fived the grass, raised your arms way up in the air everytime the wind blew, stirred dirt with a stick, and petted the trees. You are hilarious, Lincoln Michael.

You love your Uncle Josh and you yell for him constantly ... even when we are at home, and you know he isn't here.

You love playing hide and seek.

Your favorite toys are your mailbox, Elmo, hairbrushes, balls, and your Sesame Street remote.

We bought you a special potty that looks like a frog and you love it! You like to sit on it while drinking your sippy cup. You have yet to pee in it.

16 months

Photobucket

You weigh around 27 pounds and you are 34 inches long, putting you in the 97th percent for you height and then 75th percent for your weight!

You are barely squeezing into your 2T clothes.

Your Granny Birke had your foot measured at Dillards last week, and they said because of your extremely wide foot you should be wearing a size 8 shoe. We're still trying to wrap our minds around that one.

Your favorite video is Sesame Street's Kids Favorite Songs 2.

You have the prettiest blue eyes.

You hate wearing shoes. You take them off just as soon as we put them on.

Your favorite books are Puppies & Kittens, and Puppies & Friends. Basically you love any books with puppies or kittens in them :)

You are wearing a size 5 diaper.

We've started introducing you to potty training. So far, you love to flush the toilet, but you're not real crazy about sitting on the toilet :)

Your favorite songs are If You're Happy and You Know It, The Wheels on the Bus, ABC's, and He's Got The Whole World In His Hands.

As of just a couple days ago, if I point at my nose and say "Nose!", you will point at yours!

Your hair is getting blonder every day. It's pretty straight all over, and then it curls up on the ends. It's so precious!

You love music and you love to dance.

You have 14 teeth.

You are jibber jabbering 24-7. You are so confident when you jibber jabber ... as if you're speaking your own language!

Some new words you've started saying are: this, hot, and kiki (kitty).

You are having some issues with not liking to be controlled. For instance, you will only cooperate during a diaper change if we allow you to choose the place on the floor you're going to lay for the diaper change. The other day at Mimi & Poppy's house, you wouldn't eat unless you were the one feeding yourself with a fork. We have a feeling we are going to have our hands full with you!

You are a cell phone genius. You can call people, change my ringtones & wallpaper, set my alarm clock, and save text drafts. Your most recent text draft reads, "3?9566." I wonder who you are planning on sending that to? :)

You love playing with Poppy & Mimi's alarm clock and listening to the noise (aka the most annoying sound in the world).

We love you so much, Lincoln Michael.

Photobucket

Your favorite foods are avocado with banana, banana and strawberry with tapioca, and lasagna.

You are wearing a size 4 diaper.

You love playing hide and seek and Pat-a-cake!

You weigh 23 pounds.

You have two teeth. You've been teething so bad this month. You have 3 teeth on top that are about to come through.

You still love music. Your favorite song is a song created by your Poppy King---The Ding Ding song. He's been singing that song for as long as I can remember!

You make this face when you are super excited. You clench your fists and sometimes you shake all over. It's so cute!

Photobucket

You are wearing 18 months size clothes.

We just started giving you Zesty Tomato Crunchies and you love them. You would eat the entire can if we let you.

You love hygiene maitenance! You love for me to clip your nails, brush your teeth, clean your ears, brush your hair, etc. It is absolutely hilarious.

You still love your B Is For Bear touch and feel book. You love the page with the "ducklings covered in down" and the page with the red ball of yarn.

You are crawling all over the place.

You love watching Praise Baby and Enchanted in the morning. Although, you are not a big fan of Baby Einstein. At all.

Photobucket

One of your favorite pastimes is tormenting Rufus. You chase him (literally) when you're in your walker. On occasion Rufus will try to give you a kiss. You make the most hilarious face where you close your eyes, as shown above.

You have started pulling up on things.

You think your Mimi is hilarious. She doesn't have to do much, and you're rolling on the floor. You love wacky things and she's willing to deliver :)

You LOVE splashing in the bathtub!

You have your daddy's eyes and nose, and your Poppy's chin. No doubt about it.

You can wave goodbye.

You say Momma, Dadda, Bah Bah (Bye Bye), and here lately you've been obsessed with making the letter "K" sound. Kuh! You make the cutest face when you say Momma.

Photobucket

***The super cute pajamas Lincoln's sporting was a gift from his Mimi and Poppy! Thanks!!

This was my attempt at Lincoln's classic monthly photo. I put the bear next to him. He grabbed it and started slam-dunking him over and over with the most excited look on his face. Oh boy.

our baby is 8 months old!!!

We didn't even think this was possible but we've enjoyed Lincoln more this month than any other month! He has been so good, happy, and downright wonderful! We love our baby boy soo much!

Photobucket
You love to eat. Your favorite foods are green beans, avocado with banana, sweet potato, apple vanilla, and raisin oatmeal granola. Your little feet kick out of excitement the entire time we feed you.

You are wearing a size 4 diaper.

You stayed the night away from home for the first time when we went to NYC this month. You did great and I'm pretty sure you didn't even miss us!

You are smart. You are so curious and it seems like you are constantly taking things in and learning.

You love it when we count 1, 2, and then toss you into the air at 3!

You are getting tons of hair! The color is still a mystery. Somedays we think your hair looks light brown, other days we think it's blonde, and occasionally we see it in the sunlight and think it might be strawberry blonde! Who knows ... We do know that it's beautiful.

You love your walker. But more than that, you love chasing Rufus in your walker. Seriously you run after him. And he hates it.

You are the happiest baby. You belly laugh all the time and it's usually over the most simple thing.

At your doctor's appointment two weeks ago, you weighed 22 pounds.

You are wearing 12 and 18 months clothes.

You LOVE the touchy feely book your aunt Tina bought you. We read it to you about 5 times a day.

You are a pro at crawling backwards but when you go forwards it looks more like an army crawl than actual crawling.

You can wave goodbye now, but you pick and choose when you're going to do it!

You love giving kisses. When we ask for a kiss you open your mouth as wide as possible and reach your hands out to our face.

You LOVE music. Your favorite songs are The Itsy Bitsy Spider, The B-I-B-L-E song, and You Are My Sunshine.

You are talking non-stop now. You say Dadda, Momma, and Bah Bah all the time!

You love having your back rubbed, your face tickled, and your head scratched. Who wouldn't love that?!

Your eyes look more blue every day.

You love bath time.

You love playing Peek-a-Boo and Pat-a-cake.

Here's Lincoln at 6,7, and 8 months. He's changed so much!

7 months

Lincoln turned 7 months old yesterday. Where has the time gone? Lincoln has changed so much this month ...

Your favorite foods right now are green beans, oatmeal raisin granola, oatmeal cinnamon, apple vanilla, sweet potatoes, and apples and blueberries.

You said your first word on 10/16/09---Dadda. Today you said "Momma". It melts our hearts to hear you say our names, although we're pretty sure you have no idea what they mean. You've also been saying "Bah Bah" a lot, and we're thinking it's because everyone is always trying to teach you "Bye Bye". Now that you've learned these words, you won't stop saying them! So far, you've said all of these to your Uncle Josh, Brittany, Mimi, Poppy, and Granny!

You're working on crawling. You get up on all fours and rock back and forth a lot. You've even crawled a few steps ... backwards. We should have known you wouldn't go forward, right?!

You continue to hate going to sleep. We didn't know a baby (or adult) could function on such little amount of sleep!

You still like your exersaucer and Johnny Jump Up. We retired your Bumbo this week.

You've really found your voice this month and you're proud of it! If you're not talking, you're yelling, or grunting at us.

You love having your back rubbed.

When you get really excited you clench your fists, open your mouth really wide, and shake all over. It's one of the funniest things we've ever seen.

You are starting to experience some separation anxiety. If we leave you by yourself for even a second, you start to panic. We're working on that!

You LOVE bath time! It's by far your favorite pastime.

Sometimes when people talk to you, you smile and turn away like you're shy. It's sooo cute!

You do not like being put in your stroller. At all.

You love being outside and even more than that, you love being carried around outside :)

You can't go to sleep without us bouncing you on the big blue exercise ball.

You love playing "Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker's man".

You are wearing a size 3 diaper, but you may be moving up a size very soon.

You love when we sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider".

You wear size 12 months in clothes.

We love you so so much, baby boy!

Thursday, September 17, 2009

6 months!!!

You had your 6 month check up today with Dr. C. You weigh 18 pounds and 14 ounces and are 28 inches long, which puts you in the 75th percent for weight and 90th percent for height!

You love watching your Praise Baby video. Finally, we've found a video you enjoy more than Enchanted. You start smiling as soon as it comes on. I feel a little less guilty popping in a Praise Baby than Enchanted when I need to take a shower!

You love playing "Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker's man".

You have two teeth on the bottom center.

You've started doing this thing where you yell. You're not angry, but you're not happy, you're just yelling for absolutely no reason at all.

You're wearing size 3 diapers, 6-9 months clothes, and 12 months onesies!

You are obsessed with your feet (notice the pictures)!

You can no longer use your bouncy seat, but you like your exersaucer and Johnny Jump Up.

You adore your grandparents.

Your favorite foods are green beans, rice cereal, avocado, and bananas.

You have a bottle every 2-3 hours.

You love bath time.

You have the sweetest little voice. Your laugh is so precious!

One of your favorite pastimes is playing with your binky. You like to pick it up, then put it down, over and over again. You've just started picking it up and putting it in your mouth the right way.

You love being carried around outside.

You've just started getting up on all fours. You may not be crawling yet, but you can wiggle and roll your way to anything!

We cannot believe you are already half a year old! We love you so much.

-Here lately you've started doing this thing where you fake cough and then you smile. It's so cute! We think we're getting a glimpse of what's to come once you start school.

4 months

Update: You can click here if you would like to see how much Lincoln's changed each month.

I can't believe Lincoln is 4 months old! He turned 4 months yesterday if you're actually counting.

You love bath time. A couple days ago I gave you a bath and you laughed every time I poured the water on you.

You love your crinkly book. Actually, you love anything that makes noise.

You have really found your voice. You are constantly cooing and trying to make sounds.

You wear a size 2 diaper.

6 months clothes fit you in length, but are a little too baggy for you to wear just yet. Right now you're wearing 3-6 months size clothes.

If you could have it your way, we would just sit and hold you all day. You love being held!

You are smiling more and more. You have the sweetest little smile!

You are still sleeping through the night and I'm sooo thankful for that!

You've been drooling so much that we're having to keep a bib on you 24-7. Otherwise you would drench your outfit within a matter of minutes.

You were just given the okay to start solids. We've been giving you split green peas and you love them!

You love playing with your hands and just staring at them. In the past few days you've discovered your toes.

You love it when we sing to you. You're favorites are You are my Sunshine, B-I-B-L-E, and I'm a Little Teapot.

You're favorite place to be is outside. You can be screaming bloody murder, and if we walk you outside you usually calm down.

You still hate going to sleep. You take a few naps during the day but they usually only last about 20 minutes.

You roll over from your back to your stomach now, no problem.

You're still happiest in the mornings. Every morning you sit in your Bumbo seat and watch me put on my makeup and get ready.

We love your little boy so much!

And here he is today!

-You recently discovered my hair and you love to pull it.

-You still love riding in the car, but you scream when we stop at the lights.

-You still look the most like your daddy.

-You're over your swing.

-You still love going for walks in your stroller, taking a bath, and bouncing in your bouncy seat.

-We recently switched you from your bassinet to your crib. You look so little in your big crib!

-You have really started cooing. You get so excited when we talk to you!

-You love for us to hold and bounce you on our exercise ball. Sometimes that's the only thing that will calm you down.

-You still enjoy tummy time with your daddy. You also love when he reads to you. You just stare at the pictures.

-We've taken you to church every Sunday since Easter and you do so great! You usually nap through the entire service. Yesterday was the first time you didn't, and you screamed so much that we had to leave :)

-You LOVE to snuggle! It's no surprise, because me and you're daddy are all about snuggling!

-I can't believe how much you've changed since last month. You are growing way too fast.

One month

Lincoln is a month old today! I plan on taking his picture next to this bear every month for awhile to give you an idea of how much he's grown. Here is what's been going on with Lincoln this month ...

-You love riding in the car.

-You try to pee on me about once a day, but now I'm prepared :)

-You are very gassy. We didn't know those kind of sounds could come out of a baby.

-You are starting to focus your eyes on things. You stare at me while you're nursing and I love it!

-You love touching your hand to the vibrations in your bassinet.

-You love going for walks in your stroller.

-Although you are bound to change, right now I think you look most like your daddy ... which you should be happy about since your papa is quite the looker ;)

-You smile a lot when you're sleeping and you've just started smiling while you're awake, but it's always at something random ... like a picture on the wall. We can't wait for you to smile at us on purpose.

-I'm pretty sure you would eat 24/7 if I could keep up with you :)

-You love bath time.

-You sneeze in pairs. I believe your record is 6.

-You are one of the strongest newborns we have ever seen. You have been pulling your head up since you were a week old.

-I sing to you all the time, and you seem to enjoy it. You stare at my mouth with the funniest look on your face.

-You love your swing.

-You have started making noises. You get so excited and kick your legs and arms.

-You have a scowl on your face A LOT of the time.

We are so in love with you!!!! I'll leave you with this video. He's not doing anything spectacular ... just making some pretty cute faces. I especially love his face at around the 50 second mark :)
